Isaiah promised a stone--a tested stone and a sure foundation. Each of those prophecies were fulfilled in Christ Jesus. He is a proven cornerstone. He is the only foundation that will withstand the storms of life.

Despite what we all may think, we have a deep seated need to be right--to prove that what we say and believe is right. But God has not called us to be right. He has called us to be faithful. He's called us to love the unloveable. He's called us to be kind. So, maybe it's OK to lose the argument, but gain the opportunity to share the Gospel.

Isaiah compares the nation of Israel to a fading flower or a gem that has lost it's luster. How many families, nations, and individuals have started great but lost their godly focus and therefore became a fading flower?
